Mr Jin Tee who is a complex spine and neurosurgeon. His surgical practice focuses on minimally invasive (MIS) and open surgical solutions for degenerative spinal disorders (including pars defect repairs), spinal tumours, spinal deformity (including scoliosis, kyphosis, cranio-cervical junction abnormalities), and trauma. He also treats brain trauma, normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) and benign intracranial hypertension (BIH).
Mr. Tee is heavily involved in clinical research. He concentrates on clinical outcomes of spine surgery in the fields of spine trauma, spine oncology, and degenerative spinal disorders. He is involved in registry studies in Australia and North America to ultimately assist in improving the international quality of spine care. He is an active research member of the AO Spine International Trauma And Oncology Study Groups. He is Head of Spine Research at the National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI), a steering committee member of the Alfred Trauma Registry and a Monash Vision Group medical advisory member involved in the Bionic Eye project. The Bionic Eye project aims to develop an implantable brain device that allows return of sight for patients with cortical vision impairment.
Mr. Tee was a medical graduate of the University of Melbourne. After selection into the Australasian Neurosurgery Training Program, he trained at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Alfred Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital. During this time, he also completed a post graduate Doctorate of Medicine at Monash University. He then completed the AO Spine North American Complex Spine Surgery Fellowship at the world-renowned Vancouver Spine Institute, Vancouver General Hospital and the University of British Columbia.
Mr. Tee currently consults and performs spine and neurosurgery at The Alfred Hospital (State-service Level 1 Trauma Centre). There, he is also a member of the complex spine service and spine oncological surgeon. He also treats patients at St. Vincent's Private Hospital, The Epworth Hospital and Peninsula Private Hospital. He consults regionally at Frankston and Mildura.
